About us

People's Association for Community Health Education (PACHE) Trust is a rural based non-profit organisation working in southern districts of Tamilnadu. PACHE was initiated by a group of like-minded individuals who had a strong zeal of commitment and dedication towards working for the upliftment of the poor and the marginalized communities.

Having been officially registered under the indian Trust Act. on 26th August 1987, and the organization is eligible to receive foreign grants under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) 1986, and exempted from income tax under section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Across the years, PACHE Trust has extended its activities and expanded its work from one block in Madurai District to multifarious thematic intervention in six blocks in Madurai and Theni districts through support from India and abroad.

As the name suggests, the key mission of PACHE Trust has been to animate, inspire and mobilize the poorest among the population towards their own emancipation and empowerment. The prioritized communities of the organization include Children, Women Development, Environment, Education, Health and AIDS Awareness.

The organization is guided by a set of core values and democratic principles such as transparency, accountability, flexibility, collective responsibility and honesty, and is governed by a Board of Trustees and an advisory Committee along with a well established Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) system. PACHE Trust has a team of 64 efficient and dynamic staff members with necessary experience and expertise in their field of work that involves STD/HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care and Support. The organisation has a well established capacity building mechanism through a series of intensive trainings, experience and exposures. And involved in the PACHE family are 64 staff, 295 peer educators, 912 Self Help Groups with 13680 members, 8 home care guides for community care and support and 10 community health workers. and a strong reserve of volunteers in all the areas, to help and support the initiatives of the organization.

PACHE Trust has a well-furnished head office at Madurai and 10 field offices at K. Pudhur, Vikkiramangalam, Melakkal, Theni, Ponmeni, Melur and Tirunelveli. The offices are equipped with advanced communication. The 3 training venues at Vikkiramangalam, Melakkal and Malaiyur run by the organizations too are well equipped with adequate audio visual facilities. In addition to these, PACHE also run two clinics for Female sex workers.
